Pre-qualification of General Contractors

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS TO BE INCLUDED ON THE DISTRICT’S LIST OF QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS PER SECTION 22034 OF THE PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE

PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL AND MEP CONTRACTORS

Notice is hereby given that Kingsburg Joint Union High School District (the “District”) has elected to participate in the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA).  Public projects, as defined by this Act and in accordance with the limits listed in Section 22030 of the Public Contract Code, will be let to contract by informal procedures as set forth in Sections 22030-22045 of the Public Contract Code.  All licensed contractors are invited to submit the name of their firm to the District for inclusion in the District’s list of qualified bidders for the 2018 calendar year for projects under $175,000.00.

This notice requires contractors to provide the following information:

  1. Company name
  2. Contact name and mailing address
  3. Contact phone number and email address
  4. Type of work contractor is interested in performing
  5. Type of work contractor is licensed to perform
  6. Contractor’s license class and number

NOTE:  Registering with a district does not satisfy the prequalification requirements under PCC 20111.6 or the Department of Industrial Relations registration requirements under Labor Code 1725.5.

Kingsburg Joint Union High School District may create a new contractors list effective January 1st of each

Year and may include any contractor’s name it desires on the contractors list, but shall include, at a

Minimum, all contractors who have properly provided the school district with the required information, either during the calendar year in which the list is valid or during November or December of the prior year.  A contractor may have their firm added to the District’s contractors list at any time by providing the required information.

This announcement has been sent to various trade journals for publication as a requirement of the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Procedures to establish and maintain a list of qualified contractors per the applicable sections of the Public Contract Code.
